The Travelers’ Chorus

20140317-220447.jpg

This earth’s pilgrims, wayfarers
Aye, chasing time, here and there
Seizing every opportunity,
Showing they’re worthy dwellers
Of that regal, eternal City.

Friends

“Friends may come and go, but we need God in our daily lives.”

Existence

I remember the time when
the birds’ symphony
will wake me up from a long,
looooong,
long slumber,
and the sun’s rays
will hug the innocent me
after a full-length movie
called a dream.

I certainly can recall
moments of foolishness
I did back then:
riding a bike (eyes closed)
taking a bath (in a tub of mud)
throwing a tooth (in a neighbor’s roof).
Sigh.
I can’t help but smile
and smile
then burst out in laughter.

Today,
Mr. Clock became strict-
he won’t allow me to be
that seven-year old gal anymore,
naive
gullible
dainty.
Now,
I can’t find time to do
Those silly tricks I did before
I only can reminisce them
while trying to chase
my errands’ deadlines.

Albeit the fact that things
have changed, adjusted
to this generation’s fast-paced life,
a thing remained the same-
and that is me, being alive.

If I were not existing,
I would not have written these
and would not have shared
one
of the many things I’m grateful for
to someone like you
who’s someone like me
inhaling, exhaling with His mercy.

Life-
it is a gift, a blessing
that we should all appreciate.
It is just amazing to witness
How sunrises follow dark nights
How rainbows are painted after storms
How people can smile despite sorrows
How poems like this can be freely made
And for that, I can’t say more,
but

Thank You God!
