let the tranquil sky,
the gentle breeze dry
your jaded heart’s cry.
let that cleansed eye see
that each of us has his
story of pain and agonies-
in time,
the sturdy trees
lose once
beloved leaves;
in time,
the sun is set to kiss
its flame goodbye,
it has to cease.
remain in faith,
be steadfast
while you wait.
lose not the will
to fight a good fight until
the end
for the greatest meed
awaits those who will
endure until
the very end.
hold on tight,
never falter.
that day, too,
shall come
when at last!
we shall see
the
glorious
wonder
of that
Light that
shall never
flicker.
One February night,
She gazed at the sky adorned with twinkling dots
Then streams of tears
fell from her eyes
That pair of eyes you can’t visibly spot
Where unspoken feelings reside, where deep emotions hide
She started to count those twinkling dots
And realized that like her tears, those she can’t all count
But she knows of a Great Someone who can number
Those moans and cries, those blinks and flickers
With that, all the more she recognized, How great He is! How great He is!
Looking upon the spotted evening blanket
Memories unforgettable flashed in her mind
Poignant, blissful
H ea r t and heartwarming
bre a king,
They spark as the night sky jewels do, giving a gratifying sensation—
At all times- high and low- she was aided by that Great Someone
With Him, she was able to cope; with Him, her eyes are filled with hope
Later on, she again cried, How great He is! How great He is!
And as one star will soon outshine the tiny, twinkling dots
She will always have with her the picture of that evening
When she cried a river of thankful tears
Which soothed away her lingering fears
And if in this world, she’d have to have some more weeping
She would just gaze at that sky adorned with unfathomable wonders
Where tears will be wiped, where pain will no longer be felt
And where eternally, she could shout
How great He is!
How great He is!
How great He is!
On the white wall of his abode,
Hopes, dreams and wishes he once wrote;
Some fulfilled, some not yet,
Some buried in regret…
But, “Always have faith”, that wall showed.
I remember the time when
the birds’ symphony
will wake me up from a long,
looooong,
long slumber,
and the sun’s rays
will hug the innocent me
after a full-length movie
called a dream.
I certainly can recall
moments of foolishness
I did back then:
riding a bike (eyes closed)
taking a bath (in a tub of mud)
throwing a tooth (in a neighbor’s roof).
Sigh.
I can’t help but smile
and smile
then burst out in laughter.
Today,
Mr. Clock became strict-
he won’t allow me to be
that seven-year old gal anymore,
naive
gullible
dainty.
Now,
I can’t find time to do
Those silly tricks I did before
I only can reminisce them
while trying to chase
my errands’ deadlines.
Albeit the fact that things
have changed, adjusted
to this generation’s fast-paced life,
a thing remained the same-
and that is me, being alive.
If I were not existing,
I would not have written these
and would not have shared
one
of the many things I’m grateful for
to someone like you
who’s someone like me
inhaling, exhaling with His mercy.
Life-
it is a gift, a blessing
that we should all appreciate.
It is just amazing to witness
How sunrises follow dark nights
How rainbows are painted after storms
How people can smile despite sorrows
How poems like this can be freely made
And for that, I can’t say more,
but
Thank You God!
